Holding Space for Houston: Art, Justice, and Spiritual Practice
My life and work are rooted in a deep commitment to the Houston community. I’m driven by a desire to show up for this city—its people, its artists, its seekers, and its storytellers. Meditation and Buddhist wisdom guide how I move, supported by my regular practice at the Houston Zen Center, where stillness helps me stay present to the humanity around me.
I support Houston through chairing the Rothko Chapel, engaging with Bloomsday Literary, and uplifting the work of Performing Arts Houston. These organizations reflect the values I care about: compassion, creativity, justice, gender equality, and spiritual depth.
Through my YouTube channel, Ringing the Bell, I spotlight Houston’s artists, changemakers, and everyday voices. My interests also extend to LGBTQ+ allyship, racial justice, and creating spaces where people can speak honestly about identity, belonging, and healing.
At the heart of it all, I want to listen, contribute, and help Houston continue to thrive.
